Mowing is Integral to Flower Mound Lawn Maintenance
Every homeowner loves a full, lush green lawn.  But not every homeowner can boast of having this type of lawn.  The difference between a dry, brown
lawn and a lush, green lawn is generally little more than knowledge correctly applied.  In other words, the secret to a beautiful lawn is not found in
spending huge amounts of time tending to the turf.  If is found in doing the right activities with regularity.  While some homeowners choose to hire a
professional to maintain their lawn, others would rather learn how to do it successfully themselves.  The Flower Mound lawn maintenance professionals at
Lawn Jockey can help you have a stunning lawn that makes your neighbors green with envy.  Here are some suggestions.

A popular question asked by homeowners in respect to lawn care is, "How often should I mow?"  Although the answer to this question depends on a few
variables such as soil conditions, type of grass, and weather, there is one general guideline to follow.  Piles of grass clippings after each mowing indicate a
need to mow more frequently.  One word of caution, however: mowing more frequently doesn't suggest scalping the lawn.  Instead, keep each variety of
grass at its optimal height and remove no more than one third off the blade of grass each time.  This guideline will ensure that your lawn remains healthy
and dense.  Cutting grasses too short stresses the plants and renders them incapable of recovering.  Continually stressing your grass could lead to
permanent damage from which the plants will not be able to recover.

The second key ingredient is to keep your blade sharp.  Sharpening the blades of your rotary mower may seem unnecessary and bothersome, but it is
essential if you want to maintain a healthy lawn.  Here's why:  dull blades shred the grass rather than cut it cleanly.  Grass that has been shredded due to
dull blades gives ample opportunity for fungus and inspects to damage the turf.  Flower Mound lawn maintenance business owner, Tanner Maxson
recommends that, at the very least, you should sharpen the blade once a year.  Sharpening the blade yourself is very easy to do, but if you do not feel
comfortable doing this, you can always request this service from Lowery's Motor Service on Mill Street in Old Town Lewisville.   If the blades of your grass
appear golden brown after trimming, that is a good sign that your blade probably needs to be sharpened.  To make your life even easier, we have a better
plan for you. When you have your lawn mowed by Lawn Jockey you are guaranteed the lawn will be mowed with a fesh blade every week.
