North Texas Residents Depend on Lawn Jockey for Expert Lawn Care and Frisco Sod Installation
Sod is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to grass seed for new lawn installation. It is used for both residential and commercial projects with
the engineered turf of many golf courses and athletic fields. A lawn started with sod can be installed in a day or two, where one begun with grass seed
can take anywhere from weeks or months to show results. That is why contractors and homeowners alike have switched from grass seed to sod for new
lawn installation.
Lawn Jockey is one of the top lawn service companies in North Texas and is well known for their excellent Frisco lawn installation work. In addition to sod
installation, Lawn Jockey offers lawn mowing and landscape maintenance services. Their professional and courteous workers will plant flowers, and
perform all the necessary tasks to keep your landscape picture perfect. You will have time to relax and enjoy your lawn and garden instead of spending all
your time working on it.
The climate of North Texas is suitable for growing three types of grasses that make excellent sod. These three grasses are Saint Augustine (Raleigh),
Bermuda (tif 419), and Zoysia (Cavalier). Frisco sod routinely uses these grasses for installation of new residential and commercial lawns and turf for
athletic fields and golf courses. These three varieties of grass each have their own desirable characteristics.
Saint Augustine grass (Raleigh) thrives in full sun yet is very tolerant of shade. It is extremely resistant to cold and its emerald green color looks great all
through Spring, Summer, and Fall, while retaing some color in the Winter months.
Originally from Africa, Bermuda (tif 419) is tolerant of salt and dry weather. This grass resists wear and is ideal for home lawns, golf courses, tennis
courts, athletic fields, and bowling greens. Because Bermuda grass goes dormant during the winter, it may be necessary to seed over it with rye grass to
keep it looking green.
The Zoysia (Cavalier) variety of grass was developed by the Turfgrass Department of Texas A&M University. This finely textured grass is suitable for
home lawns, golf course fairways, and any highly visible area. A lawn of sod grown from Zoysia grass will look like a well manicured putting green. When it
comes to tolerating shade Zoysia grass doesn't have the high tolerance of Saint Augustine, but grows better in shade than Bermuda grass. Keep in mind
there are different varieties of Zoysia and they are not all the same.
When it comes to installing sod for residential or commercial use, residents of Frisco depend on Lawn Jockey for professional results. Leave the yard
work to them so you will have more time to spend with your family enjoying the summer. Visit their services page for more information on the services they
provide or to schedule an appointment.
